Native Annapolitan and co-owner Matt Hudson graduated from the prestigious Graham Webb International Academy of Hair. Matt’s commitment to providing superior customer service and his devotion to helping his clients look their best has earned him a loyal following among clients who desire classic style and timeless sophistication.
Parisian-born stylist Luc Fouquet earned over 20 years of experience working in prestigious salons in Los Angeles, Paris, Saint Tropez and Washington, D.C. before opening Hudson & Fouquet in 2004. Luc is known for his skill in creating cutting-edge styles that grow out well, which has earned him a following among clients who want fresh and edgy looks that are also effortlessly manageable outside of the salon. With an intuitive eye for natural beauty, one of Luc’s greatest skills is drawing out and amplifying the inner-style and beauty of his clients, creating unique and trendsetting styles that stand out among a crowd.
Alexis Harrison’s creativity and understanding of her clients inspires her and helps her fashion the ideal style and color for each person who sits in her chair. While Balayage and long haircuts and styling are her areas of expertise, she is always keen to customize just the right look for her clients. The 2011 graduate of the Calvert Career and Technology Cosmetology program and the Hudson & Fouquet Protégé Program, also actively seeks information on the latest trends and advice so that she can discuss ideas with clients. (If you’ve been in her chair recently, she likely reminded you to rinse with cool water to seal the cuticles after conditioning your hair.)

When she’s not happily creating at Hudson & Fouquet, you can find Alexis indulging in good food and wine.

Amy Shaw was born to be a stylist.
The Graham Webb graduate has been doing hair since 2002 and lovingly learns new skills by continuing her education whenever and wherever she can, including through the Redken Exchange and Bumble and Bumble University.
Her passion is empowering women, especially those curly girls and redheads…because she knows the struggle.
When she is not enjoying the happy, healthy and fun staff and clients at Hudson & Fouquet, you can find Amy being a Mom and spending time with her family.
Andrea Glenn is one of the few hairstylist in the Annapolis area who has earned the designation of the American Board of Certified Haircolorist. Her vision for her clients is natural looking highlights and color placement for a soft, youthful and current look. By studying in New York with Lorraine Massey, author of Curly Girl the Handbook, Andrea has also expanded her expertise in cutting and caring for curly hair. She attended the University of Alabama and later received her professional education from the Graham Webb Academy.
Briana Lowe always loved playing with hair so perhaps it’s no surprise she followed her passion to become a stylist. “I love meeting new people, helping them enjoy their hair and teaching them how to style it.”

After graduating from the Temple Annapolis Paul Mitchell Partner School, Briana joined the Hudson & Fouquet apprentice program. She is particularly fond of blowouts and soft, natural looking hair and loves working with long hair.

If you’re looking to add bounce to your current do, Briana offers a great tip: When it comes to blowouts, women should not always blow dry with their part. It makes it hard to get volume. Blow dry straight up!

When she’s not at Hudson & Fouquet, you will find Briana enjoying a good book and spending time with friends and family.

Calysta Elwood’s philosophy is: Don’t compare yourself to others. There is no comparison between the sun and the moon. They shine when it’s their time. You’re beautiful.

The Hudson & Fouquet stylist, who hails from St. Mary’s, Georgia, may have originally been inspired by the creativity and art of hairdressing but the science behind color really drew her in. “Color can really change a look, even if it’s subtle,” explains the Paul Mitchell School graduate, who now loves helping her clients assess the right color as well as the ideal cut to flatter and compliment different face shapes and sizes.

With five years of experience, including continuing education through GK Keratin Class, Redken ‘Color and Know Why and Balayage classes, and Deva Curl Level 1, Calysta loves using her education and experience to creatively help her help clients achieve that special look.

At a very young age, Eilish Leonard became dedicated to arts and crafts and enjoying making people happy. “Every Friday after school, I did all of my friends’ hair before we went out,” explains Eilish, “They would leave feeling beautiful with smiles on their faces. That’s when I knew I was made to do hair!”

Eilish, a Temple Annapolis graduate, loves everything about hair—cutting, styling, and color. She is a big fan of detail work that allows her to creatively fashion the best look for her clients. With Balayage, she can construct a very natural, sun-kissed look and with highlighting, she can create subtle or drastic lights, depending on the client’s wishes.

In her chair, Eilish likes to chat about the length and texture of hair, suggest the right products for your hair type, and offer tips as she blow dries and styles so that you can achieve that style at home. For blondes concerned that their color is too brassy, she’ll advise you to try a purple shampoo to neutralize unwanted, harsh yellow tones and maintain cool blonde tones.

Outside of Hudson & Fouquet, you’ll find Eilish somewhere near the water, surrounded by people she loves and having a good time.

Elena Gwynn
Love that chicness you achieve just after your cut but need a tutorial on accomplishing that same look at home? Ask Elena Gwynn! For the past few years, the Temple Annapolis Paul Mitchell Partner School graduate has been honing her knack for helping clients attain a great look at home.

“I love to make every client feel great when he or she looks in the mirror and I really enjoy bringing out clients’ natural beauty and the features that flatter them the most,” explains the Upper Marlboro resident who works with low-maintenance dos as well as shapes and cuts that need more in-salon attention. While her current faves are color services, blondes, highlights, and Balayage, she is partial to finding just the right ways to create dimension that flatters personal style.

When you’re in her chair, Elena is likely to mention her favorite trick for hydrating and repairing hair: leave a good conditioner on during a relaxing Sunday or a day off!

Outside of Hudson & Fouquet, Elena winds down by listening to her favorite bands and snacking!

Emily Hosse is a keen observer. She knows firsthand that customizing haircutting and styling to face shape can make a world of difference.

The Pasadena resident also loves blonding, highlights and Balayage, skills she honed during her time at the Temple Annapolis and ensuing apprenticeship program at Hudson & Fouquet.

In her hair, Emily will tell you: Don’t wash your hair every day! If you have a question about the right amount of wash, ask her. She’ll assess your hair type and oiliness of the scalp and make personalized recommendations. She’ll also suggest a good at-home weekly treatment.

Outside of Hudson & Fouquet, you’ll find Emily watching makeup and hair tutorials so she can practice them, listening to music, playing her guitar, and enjoying hikes and walks.

Coloring and styling specialist Gabriella Imperato wants you to have fun with your hair.

If you’re up for big changes with cuts and colors, count her in! “I love creating looks based on your lifestyle, whether you get your hair done four times a year or monthly. I can create a look to make it happen!”

After graduating from the Temple Annapolis Paul Mitchell Partner School and America’s Beauty School, she learned to blend her fashion and color sense into creating great looks for clients. She is a big fan of Balayage, a low-maintenance service that creates natural dimension in the hair and gets better with each service. And, she loves colors. She has fun blending colors and creating color changes, like making blondes pink.

In her chair, Gabriella will offer tips on detoxing your hair once a week to remove product and mineral buildup. Hint: it’ll make your blowout last longer.

Outside of Hudson & Fouquet, you will find Gabriella shopping if she isn’t napping, eating, or attending a concert.

Stylist Jessica Baden looks forward to having you in her chair. The Paul Mitchell School graduate loves making and creating connections with her clients and helping them find their beauty inside and out.

Jessica can talk about the latest trends as well as classic styles. She enjoys finding great hues through Balayage and dimensional color but styling remains her favorite service. “It is the last step for a client’s hair and pulls everything together,” she explains, “You see your finished work and how pretty or handsome your client looks and feels.”

As you leave the salon, Jessica may remind you to take into consideration how you take care of your hair. She believes in protecting and caring for this investment and is happy to make recommendations for maintaining those tresses.

She excitedly continues taking classes on cutting techniques and color technique and is delighted to be an industry that will forever grow.

Outside of Hudson and Fouquet, Jessica enjoys nice days on the beach and heading downtown to grab food with friends.

Maryland blondes are among the many Hudson & Fouquet clients happy that Jessie Dean left Georgia for the Free State.

After six years in the trade, the master cosmetologist and stylist still wholeheartedly embraces ongoing learning because, she says, “Life is too short for boring hair. Take chances and try new things!” The certified organic colorist’s passion to help clients branch out has been behind some of her extensive continued training with Aveda, Pulp Riot, Matrix, Kerastase, Kevin Murphy, Redken, Schwarzkopf, Welta, and others.

Since Jessie enjoys “creating multidimensional blondes and experimenting with new Balayage techniques,” she develops unique formulas so that no two clients ever leave with exactly the same color. My goal is always to maintain the maximum integrity of the hair, she explains. On that note, when you’re in her chair, expect Jessie to remind you to be patient when working towards hair goals, especially if you’re blonde. “Happy hair is healthy hair and products are your friends. Salon quality products will protect your investment in salon quality color.”

When she’s not devising perfect color, Jessie loves creating styles with texture for all hair types. She has experience with formal styles for weddings and editorial shoots.

Clearly, Jessie enthusiastically relishes her work and her clients at Hudson & Fouquet. “I put the utmost value in my client relationships because I know without loyal, happy, fulfilled clients, I would have no career at all,” she says, “I’ve had to continue to learn and to grow as a stylist and bring the best of the industry to everyone in my chair. I will always provide a judgment-free environment.”

Jessica Era is known for her fine-tuned, soft and gentle touch. An expert with the blow dryer, she loves to demonstrate how to maximize lift and volume through correct use of the tool. She enjoys cutting, up-dos, balayage, highlighting and color. She is knowledgeable of products and can make recommendations based on individual client needs. Hudson & Fouquet is pleased to have Jessica as a valuable part of the team.
Kennedi Larson has a passion for fashion, which she avidly seeks in magazines and on Pinterest. That knowledge of upcoming and new styles and trends inspires her to create the right look for her clients.

The AVEDA Institute Washington D.C. and Hudson & Fouquet Protégé Program graduate loves making people feel good about themselves and their hair. Her favorite service is highlighting because she enjoys creating dimension and different shades of blonde. And, she knows how to help pick a skin-complimenting tone for hair to really make features pop. Her areas of expertise also include Balayage techniques as well as men’s haircuts and long haircuts.

When she’s not happily creating at Hudson & Fouquet, you can find Kennedi enjoying time with friends and spending time at her farm.

Taking client’s hair from lackluster and lifeless to sun-kissed and smooth is one of Kyra Smith’s gifts. The experienced stylist uses “a girl’s two favorite Bs – Balayage and Brazilian Blowout,” to offer “instant gratification.”Certified in multiple specialties, including Brazilian Blowout, Keratin Complex, Hot Heads Extensions, and Kevin Murphy Balayage, Kyra also has considerable experience in updos. Past experience includes styling hair for models in the Canadian Embassy Fashion Show.In her chair, Kyra is happy to offer advice, including fabulous blow drying tips. “Let your hair cool before taking it off the brush,” the Ohio native cheerfully explains, “Usually people speed it along, but allowing your hair time to cool will allow you to maintain the style longer.”

Laurel Mabe is on a mission to help people feel good about themselves, starting with their hair. The Paul Mitchell graduate has been working in salons since she was 17 and has continued her education through Hudson & Fouquet, Babe Things, and Kevin Murphy. Keen on cutting and styling long hair, Laurel also has a flair for helping clients find color, especially fun colors. Her areas of expertise also include men’s cuts and fading, hair painting, Brazilian blowouts, and keratin treatments. Her favorite service is root smudging with hair painting because it allows her to customize specific looks for her clients. Ask her about it!

When she’s not surrounded by the talented team at Hudson & Fouquet and enjoying making clients happy, Laurel loves to be outside, in the gym, and visiting her family in North Carolina.

Lillian Smith wants you to know everyone should have dimension! The graduate of Paul Mitchell and Hudson and Fouquet program can’t wait to explain all about dimensions, highlights, and contours for your hair. “The highlights pull out the lighter features of your face giving you glow and shine while the darker color contours your face giving you depth and shape for a natural look,” she explains. Perhaps that is why Balayage is her all-time favorite look for all. And, she notes, it’s low maintenance.

With her background as a Nordstrom’s employee and an esthetics license, Lillian also enjoys hand painting and customizing color and style for each client. “I love seeing a happy client’s reaction.
I want everyone to look in the mirror and see beautiful hair that they are proud of and feel good about,” she says.

When she’s not at Hudson and Fouquet, you will find Lillian with her friends, and likely on the water, boating, paddle boarding, and kayaking.

As a blonde who loves being a blonde, Lisa Richardson understands both the beauty and challenge of blonde shades.  She is inspired by the seasons and like to see color change and adapt, always keeping her clients looking their best any time of year. Lisa also enjoys applying her skill to men’s cuts and color. A graduate of Graham Webb with previous experience in Georgetown and Old Town Alexandria, Lisa is loving being a part of the Hudson Fouquet team where stylists encourage and inspire one another.
A graduate of Towson University and The Fila Academy, a Paul Mitchell Partner School, Liza Barill brings 13 years of experience to the Hudson & Fouquet family. She is especially skilled at color and corrective work. She enjoys the instant gratification of a hair makeover. Always considering skin tone and face shape, Liza loves to see that smile in the mirror when her clients see the end result. Liza provides individualized styling tips to her clients and remains on the cutting edge of the industry via continued education and product review. She also has expertise in extension work and especially enjoys the enhancement that service can bring.

At age 16, Mariah Dove started in hair as a shampoo girl and then completed her two-year Maryland state apprenticeship under Amy Shaw. She became a certified Amika Braiding Master in 2017 (and if you don’t know about this styling trend, ask her)! This year, she received her Brazilian Blowout certification.

When pressed, Mariah couldn’t decide which service was her favorite—she loves bobs, coloring (especially creative and color corrections), updos, and formal styling. However, her goal is clear: “I will always be honest and realistic with my clients to ensure the integrity of the hair is preserved and that you always leave feeling beautiful.”

When you’re in her chair, Mariah will remind you that regular haircuts and good products make hair happy and healthy!

Outside of Hudson & Fouquet, you will find Mariah where the music is…unless she is hiking and petting as many dogs as she can.

From men’s and women’s cuts to highlights and fashion colors, Meagan Goodnite loves working on clients’ hair because she is keenly aware that hair can help you change the way you feel about yourself.

The Temple: Paul Mitchell Partner School graduate is open to trying new ideas and styles and often suggests that her clients bring a photo to provide reference.

Outside of Hudson & Fouquet, you’ll find Meagan being a mom to her three kids! She loves being with and helping her family.

For nearly a decade, Annapolis native Megan Miller has enjoyed creating fresh and new cuts and color for numerous clients, many of whom have become friends. (Ask her what it was like to do hair for the Baltimore Ravens’ cheerleaders.)

The friendly and artistic stylist always wants her clients to leave with amazing hair and feel great, whether she is helping them create a whole new look or freshening what they already have. She loves cutting all types of hair, especially curly hair, something with which she has personal experience! When you sit in her chair, she wants to talk about hair, making sure clients are happy with all aspects of their style and color but aren’t afraid to make changes or ask for fun advice.

Outside of Hudson & Fouquet, look for Megan outside! She loves outdoor activities, especially when she’s accompanied by her child and family.

Everyone notices a great blonde, states Melanie Vaughn, an H&F stylist who hails from Bowie.

The 2009 Graham Webb Academy graduate loves providing foil and Balayage services to ensure her fair-haired clients are never overlooked. But, don’t despair if your hair is darker. As a brunette herself, Melanie also loves hiking up natural hues to add dimension and warmth. “Often brunettes are too red or orange; I can fix that!” says Melanie, who has attended Behind The Chair shows and completed Arrojo Hair Painting and Tracey Cunningham Color classes in New York City because she loves corrective color! “Transformations of a color correction make my soul smile.”

Melanie fell in love with doing hair during cosmetology school. “It makes me really happy to make people feel beautiful.”

Before you sit in her chair, Melanie suggests you find a picture to bring with you.

More than just a hairstylist, Noah Erbe is also an educator. He enjoys sharing his knowledge of cutting techniques and styling with his clients, so they can achieve the same great look when they style their hair at home. Noah has worked in the industry for 19 years and is a graduate of the 1994 International Beauty School. He is certified in color and cutting techniques for both men and women. He enjoys cutting, as it can produce the most updated enhancement for his clients, and specializes in encouraging a “natural” look. While Noah enjoys women’s haircutting, he has a new found passion for men’s modern barbering.
If you love hair, no doubt you already know PT Sevin. The long-time Annapolis stylist worked at Bubbles before opening up Glow Salon & Day Spa on Housley Road. Previously a UNITE platform artist, he is color certified in most brand lines, including Redken and Schwarzkopf and has cut hair around the world, even working Milan Fashion Week.

The creative and talented stylist considers himself “mainly a colorist and hair cutter,” and loves all color, although he may be best known for his blondes, from extreme to natural that doesn’t look “rooty” at all.

To ensure that he is clear on his clients’ wishes, PT suggests bringing in a photo. If you don’t have one, PT may whip out his phone to show you photos. “Communication is the biggest thing and we need to make sure we are on the same page so that I can create exactly what you want,” he says, noting that sometimes what one person thinks is blonde is really white blonde. “I’m never unhappy with clients’ needs,” he explains, “And, if we need to make a change, I have no problem correcting anything I’ve done.”

Outside of H&F, if PT isn’t busy hanging with his wife and kids, you’ll likely find him in downtown Annapolis or perhaps playing music with Matt, the two were in a band together for 20 years and still enjoy performing together.

“Smile, you’re beautiful,” says stylist Taylor Haas, who likes to help male and female clients achieve a favorite look through creative updos and men’s cuts.   “I love to make someone else feel good about themselves.”

The Chester native completed school through The Temple: A Paul Mitchell school and worked at a  Marriotsville salon before joining Hudson & Fouquet.

In her chair, Taylor will definitely remind you to always make time for treatment on your ends. “It is important to get that moisture back in there!”

Outside of Hudson & Fouquet, you will find Taylor hanging out with friends and family, doing weddings on site or somewhere on the water.
